The Van Diemen's Land Company

60 Unit Rotary Facility – Tasmania

Logo-VDLEstablished in 1825, VDL owns and operates 25 dairy farms, a Dairy Support Unit and a standalone Heifer Rearing Operation.  Including replacements VDL currently runs approximately 30,000 dairy stock.

Dairy Constructions recently delivered a 60 unit rotary facility for Australia’s largest milk producer – The Van Diemen’s Land Company.

Dairy Constructions, though our design and delivery process, were able to solve a number of previous issues for VDL which included facility quality and durability, total project management, wash down times, cow flow and OHS concerns. Dairy Constructions were able to set a new standard of facility for the Van Diemen’s Land Company.

The scope of works includes construction and management of a replacement 60 unit rotary. The facility integrated with the existing yard included the Dairy Constructions Sunken Milking Area, fold down AI platform, holing yards, offices, the Dairy Constructions safety walkway, staff, machinery and storage rooms as well as extensive rectification works to their existing facilities.
